THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
The pandemic has challenged us to do things differently this year, yet the spirit of our event remains the same. The Walk & Run is an important and essential fundraiser for CRC. It’s also a celebration of the resilience of people facing cancer as well as a memorial to the many people we’ve served who are no longer with us. A lot of things in this world have stopped, but cancer is not one of them. Staff and volunteers continue to provide much-needed support services to people facing cancer in our community. We ask for your support because we want to remain a source of information and comfort for folks during a scary time in their lives, just as we have for the past 26 years.
The Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes is the most comprehensive cancer support organization in Central New York and a model for cancer support organizations in smaller communities throughout the nation. Services include: support groups, one-to-one assistance, a Boutique with free wigs, yoga and fitness classes, retreats, and a lending library. We also serve as the communications hub for cancer related programs in the region. CRC works closely with Cayuga Medical Center, recruiting, training and supervising all cancer support volunteers at the hospital, and also collaborates with Cornell University, connecting doctoral students engaged in cancer research with the local cancer community.
We are celebrating our 26th year!
