Alpha Kappa Alpha 1908

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Nu Omega (ONO) Chapter, is pleased to continue our annual tradition, which we began about 18 years ago, to support the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes (CRCFL). We hope you will join our team to help us exceed our fundraising goal of $1,908.00 to celebrate the founding year for our sorority. This year, Team Alpha Kappa Alpha 1908 is pleased to walk, run, and raise funds in loving honor of our chapter member, Sharon Bryant. You may read Ms. Bryant's inspiring story below.

"It has almost been four years since I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Being a breast cancer survivor has changed my life in so many ways. I was already a believer, but I am a witness in how God interceded and saved my life. I learned how to put myself first and to accept the support of my family and friends. This support came in the form of Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc., Omicron Nu Omega Chapter walking in my honor, to my sister and nephew shaving their heads with me, and my Aunt Mary cooking organic vegetables from her garden to heal my body. I relied on the assistance of my friends and students who went with me to doctors’ appointments to take notes, and sat with me during chemotherapy and radiation sessions. Finally, my mother and pastor prayed for my strength and lifted me up daily. All of their spirits surrounded my body, forming a barrier to help me remain centered through my journey to wellness."
